Dream Work and How it Works
How Our Dreaming Mind Speaks to
Us:
Our dreams speak in metaphor through a
language of symbols. While some of these symbols are universal and
cross cultural, your psyche attaches specific meaning, unique to you
the dreamer. Therefore, your dreams are a message developed by your
psyche, to convey a specific message to you. These messages address
emotional concerns, physical illness, unconscious barriers, belief
systems, and choices you are struggling with and many other
unconscious processes that are impacting your conscious waking life.
Dreams also bring tremendous creativity, understanding and problem
solving skills.
What Dream Work is:
Dream work is a tool through which
you can become aware of the valuable information dreams carry to you
each night. It is a path to greater awareness of your creative
capacity, as well as your beliefs and patterns of behavior that help
or hinder you in your relationships at work and at home.
What Dream Work is not:
Dream work is not a replacement for
psychiatric or counseling therapy. Dream work can enhance the
diagnostic and healing qualities of these practices, when used in
conjunction with them.
If you need
psychiatric or counseling therapy, contact your healthcare provider.
If you have a mental health emergency, call 911 or go to your local
emergency room.
